1.  What is NLP?

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It studies how our mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) affects our emotions and behaviors (programming).

Commonly used in the field of personal development and motivational talks, NLP comprises of concepts, tools and skills for achieving peak performance. It is also a practical study of communication and how we can enhance and utilize language to influence ourselves and others. As it is developed through observing excellence from successful people, therefore NLP is still expanding currently and its use is immense.

2.  What can I do with NLP?

Since it is a tool developed from studying successful people, there is a lot of potential in using NLP in different fields. You could apply it management, finance, HR, consulting work, coaching, training, teaching.... one of our participants even applied it in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a holistic approach to health. That was totally unexpected.

3.  Isn't NLP only used for coaching and therapy?

Nope. Therapy assumes that something is broken and needs to be fixed. NLP focuses on developing an attitude, a lifestyle, a set of tools and whatever that works for unique individuals leading to excellence. As for coaching, it is part of NLP but not the whole. NLP has far wider applications and you will have to experience it to fuse it with your work and life.

4.   Do I need to study a lot for NLP certification?

6.  What is so different with your training and coaching?

In Navigo, our training and coaching is a 'do with' process as oppose to a 'do to' process. It means that we co-create learning with you together instead of a one-size fit all training for you. As each and every one of us is unique, it means we learn differently. So, the best learning occurs when you learn to train yourself. NLP gives us the tools to do that. It doesn't mean we don't train though, it means you learn best when you train yourself.

7.  Can your training be sustainable?

We don't know. Frankly, we are confident that our training shift you and we are able to provide continuous support for sustainability. However, it takes two hands to clap and we need you to put in as much effort as we put in to make sure the learning sticks. If you rent a bicycle and Navigo shares with you the skills to cycle, you will need to practice to become competent. What we can do with you is to be there to speed up your process.

10.  What is Time Line Therapy in relation to NLP?

Time Line Therapy (TLT) is the reflection model of NLP. Frustratingly, the name TLT is misleading. Think of something in the past that you have done and now if you were to reflect on it, would have have done things differently? That is TLT, a simplistic model of it. In summary, TLT is a powerful process and model that allows us to reflect and learn from our own experiences and that of others. It can be used in many areas including in therapy and counselling but not limited to that. Learning it provides you with the best tool to deal with your past and learn enormously from your own experiences.
