    • Answers to the top 10 questions beginners have about NLP in Malaysia.

If you are only beginning to explore the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, you’ve likely got a lot of questions and perhaps even a few misconceptions. Having trained NLP in Malaysia for over 20 years, Carsten Cziborr and I have heard and answered hundreds of questions. To give you clarity, we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions we hear from people new to the field.

1. What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

It’s a study of how our mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) affect our emotions and behaviors (programming). Also known as “the science of human excellence,” it is comprised of concepts, techniques, and skills for achieving Personal Mastery.

It is a method that enables you to take charge of your mind, your emotions, and your behaviors to run your own life more successfully.

It is also a practical study of communication and how we can utilize and enhance language to communicate with extraordinary effectiveness and to influence others. NLP focuses on producing immediate and long-lasting change and provides by far the most advanced and comprehensive set of interpersonal skills available today.

Its effectiveness has made it popular in almost every field, including education, coaching, management, sales, health, and parenting.

2. How can I benefit from learning NLP?

The list of benefits would easily include over a hundred points, with the most common ones being the ability to:

    • Enhance self-esteem & boost self-confidence

    • Get rid of bad & unwanted habits

    • Work out what you want in all areas of life

    • Communicate better at your workplace and home

    • Improve and maintain good relationships

    • Reach peak performance in sport and business

Everyone has their own success stories of using these skills to improve the quality of their life. For example, we recently coached a sales manager who used NLP to double his sales team confidence presentations and negotiation, leading to his own promotion within six months only.

Imagine you too could learn to be in charge of your thinking, emotions, and behavior at any given moment in life. Imagine you could master your use of language to become a charismatic and influential person. Imagine learning this would allow you to align your personal potential with who you truly are and with your purpose. With NLP you can truly transform your life, like thousands of other Malaysians who simply chose to get ahead.

3. What is the best way to learn NLP?

Attending a physical face-to-face Licensed Practitioner program is the best and the only way to obtain real knowledge of NLP. Our 7-day Licensed Practitioner program provides you with great insights into how people think, feel, and process information, and the differences in our communication styles. It brings you to a completely new level as a communicator and equips you with highly effective people skills.

During the program, we – your trainers, will present various concepts and techniques; we will demonstrate live coaching using NLP techniques, which you then will practice with your fellow participants. This gives you the perfect platform to apply the skills first-hand, learn from the process, and get real-time feedback. Besides, you will be able to ask as many questions as you want, and we will help you to relate everything you learn to your real life daily situations.

What counts most for you is the practical application of the skills, this way you make sure your time spent in the program is well invested.

4. What is the difference between learning NLP from a book and attending a program?

There’s a big difference, just like trying to learn swimming by reading a book. You won’t be able to swim until you find yourself a swimming instructor and a swimming pool. While reading books may provide you with information, true learning comes through face-to-face interaction, when you can compare what works better for you and others.

When it comes to Neuro-Linguistic Programming, person-to-person interaction is a key aspect that no book or online course can replicate. A practitioner training program provides you with the best platform to explore and apply the skills first-hand in a safe environment where you can make mistakes, receive feedback, and have your questions answered by a qualified trainer.

5. Why is the NLP license certification so important?

With so many options available, you need to be careful not to fall into the trap of mock-NLP programs. There are plenty of so-called experts who apply the label “Neuro-Linguistic Programming” to ideas and techniques that don’t even come close to the original concept.

To make sure you invest your time and money in learning #AuthenticNLP, it is advised to get well informed about the trainer’s qualifications and the certifying body they associate with. NaviGo® works in association with The Society of NLP, representing Dr. Richard Bandler, the co-founder of NLP. We strictly follow the guidelines pertaining to the training content and quality. Upon successful completion, our graduates receive a license certificate issued by The Society of NLP (USA) and personally co-signed by Dr. Bandler himself. Your license is the quality seal and guarantee that you are learning authentic Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

6. What is the difference between NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner levels?

The Practitioner program will equip you with a solid foundation of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which is Level 1. Successful completion makes you eligible to attend the Master Practitioner program (Level 2). A Master Practitioner program will bring you to a new level of mastery, where you will deepen your knowledge and acquire more powerful and advanced tools. After successfully completing the Master Practitioner, you become eligible to attend the NLP Coach® program (Level 3).

7. Where can I apply the skills and techniques?

NLP is being used in most fields, including management, finance, HR, consulting, coaching, corporate training, and parenting. Proper skills will allow you to be flexible in the application of the techniques. The beauty of it is that you can adjust any technique to appropriately fit into any context. Over the past 20 years, we have covered most industries in Malaysia.

8. Do I need a prerequisite to learn it?

Not at all. No matter your age, culture, or profession, all you need is to be willing to learn and grow, be open to new ideas, and be ready to experiment and have fun.

9. Is NLP only for therapists and coaches?

Absolutely not! It can be applied in any field and any area where human interaction is involved. It has become popular in coaching and therapy because of how effective and efficient it is at creating immediate and long-lasting positive change.

10. Are NLP and hypnosis the same?

They are not the same but are closely related. Hypnosis is a way to create an altered state, or trance, to make use of the power of a person’s unconscious mind. As such, hypnosis is part of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. In our licensed certification programs, participants learn how to use hypnotic language patterns to harness this transformational effect.
