For many working professionals in Malaysia, NLP training is not only a personal development decision. It can also be a professional development investment supported through an employer’s HRD Corp training grant, subject to the employer’s eligibility, HRD Corp requirements, and approval process.

NaviGo NLP Center, under NaviGo Asia Sdn. Bhd., is an HRD Corp registered training provider. This means eligible HRD Corp-registered employers may apply to support selected NaviGo NLP training programs for their employees.

This article explains how HRD Corp claimability works for NaviGo’s licensed NLP programs, what employees and HR teams should prepare, and how to start the process properly.

In This Guide

What Are HRD Corp Claimable Courses?

HRD Corp Claimable Courses are designed to help registered employers retrain and upskill their employees in line with business and operational requirements.

In practical terms, this means the application is normally handled by the employer, usually through the HR, Learning & Development, or training department. The employee does not usually apply for the HRD Corp grant personally.

For employees, the first useful question is therefore not only:

“Is this course claimable?”

The better question is:

“Is my company registered with HRD Corp, and can my HR department apply for this program under the current HRD Corp claim process?”

Your HR department is usually the best first internal contact because they can confirm your company’s HRD Corp status, levy position, internal approval process, and current application requirements.

Are NaviGo NLP Programs HRD Corp Claimable?

Eligible employers may apply for HRD Corp claim support for selected licensed NLP training programs offered by NaviGo NLP Center, subject to HRD Corp approval and current requirements.

The relevant public programs include:

These are live, structured NLP training programs designed for professionals who want practical skills in communication, leadership, coaching, behavioral flexibility, emotional awareness, and personal effectiveness.

For companies that want to train a group of employees, NaviGo also offers corporate and in-house training options. These are usually more suitable when the organization wants the training aligned to leadership, communication, sales, coaching, customer engagement, team development, or emotional intelligence at work.

Who Should Consider the HRD Corp Claimable Route?

The HRD Corp route is most relevant if you are:

  • An employee of an HRD Corp-registered company
  • A manager, leader, HR professional, trainer, coach, consultant, salesperson, or working professional
  • Seeking NLP training for professional communication, leadership, coaching, or behavioral development
  • Planning to attend a public NaviGo NLP program with your employer’s support
  • Exploring in-house NLP or communication training for your company

For individuals paying privately, the HRD Corp claim route may not apply unless your employer is involved in the application. If you are unsure, check with your HR department first.

Which NLP Program Should You Start With?

For most participants, the starting point is the Licensed Practitioner of NLP® program.

This is the foundation-level certification program in the NLP progression path. It is suitable for participants who want to understand and apply NLP skills in communication, self-management, coaching conversations, leadership, influence, and personal development.

The Licensed Master Practitioner of NLP® is an advanced progression program for participants who have already completed Practitioner-level training.

The Licensed NLP Coach® program is for participants who want to develop structured coaching capability using NLP within a professional coaching framework.

If you are unsure which program fits your current level, speak to NaviGo before submitting your request internally. Choosing the wrong program can delay your HR approval or create confusion during the claim process.

How the HRD Corp Application Process Usually Works

The exact process may vary depending on your company’s internal policy and HRD Corp’s current requirements. In general, the flow is as follows:

  1. Choose the NaviGo NLP program you wish to attend.
  2. Check with your HR department whether your company is registered with HRD Corp and whether you are eligible for training support.
  3. Complete the relevant NaviGo application or enquiry process for the selected program.
  4. Inform NaviGo that your company intends to apply through HRD Corp Claimable Courses.
  5. NaviGo’s team can assist with relevant program information required for your employer’s application, such as quotation, schedule, course outline, and trainer profile.
  6. Your employer submits the grant application through the HRD Corp system according to the latest HRD Corp process.
  7. Once HRD Corp approval is received, your employer should forward the approval confirmation to NaviGo.
  8. NaviGo confirms your seat, subject to approval status, administrative completion, and seat availability.

Do not wait until the last minute. HRD Corp applications require proper documentation and approval before training begins. Internal company approval can also take time.

Important 2026 HRD Corp Timing Update

HRD Corp has announced revised requirements for levy-based training grant applications, effective 15 June 2026.

Under HRD Corp’s revised requirement, employers must obtain grant approval before training begins, and applications are required to be approved 14 days before the commencement date of training. Training must also commence within 90 days from the grant approval date.

This means employers should not leave the HRD Corp application too close to the course date. If the training starts before the 14-day requirement has been met, or more than 90 days after grant approval, the training may be treated as non-compliant and the claim may not be eligible.

For NaviGo public NLP programs, this makes early planning important. Employees who wish to attend using their company’s HRD Corp training grant should speak with HR as early as possible, confirm the intended course dates, and allow enough time for internal approval and HRD Corp submission.

For companies planning in-house training, the same principle applies. Training dates should be confirmed carefully before submission because HRD Corp’s revised requirements make timing compliance more important.

Grant Submission Does Not Automatically Confirm Your Seat

Submitting an HRD Corp application is not the same as having a confirmed seat in the program.

Your seat is confirmed only when the required approval and administrative steps are completed, and when there is still space available in the selected intake.

NaviGo’s public NLP programs are live training programs with limited seats. If your company intends to apply through HRD Corp, start early enough to avoid missing the preferred intake.

What Documents Might HR Need?

Your HR department may require several items for the application, depending on the current HRD Corp process and your company’s internal procedure.

Commonly requested information may include:

  • Program quotation or invoice
  • Course outline or schedule
  • Trainer profile
  • Training dates
  • Training venue or delivery format
  • Participant details
  • Company approval or internal training request

NaviGo’s team can assist with relevant program documents after the participant has completed the appropriate application or enquiry process.

Public NLP Course or Corporate In-House Training?

There are two common routes.

The first route is public training. This is suitable when one or a small number of employees want to attend NaviGo’s scheduled NLP programs in Kuala Lumpur.

The second route is corporate or in-house training. This is suitable when a company wants a tailored training program for a group of employees. In-house programs can be aligned more closely to business needs such as leadership communication, coaching skills for managers, customer communication, presentation confidence, team alignment, sales conversations, or emotional intelligence at work.

If your company is considering training several employees, it may be more practical to speak with NaviGo about a corporate proposal rather than sending participants individually.

Why Companies Use NLP Training for Employee Development

NLP training is often chosen by companies and professionals because it focuses on practical patterns of communication, perception, behavior, and influence.

For the workplace, this can support areas such as:

  • Clearer professional communication
  • Better listening and questioning skills
  • More effective coaching conversations
  • Leadership presence and flexibility
  • Handling pressure and emotional triggers more effectively
  • Improving rapport in customer, sales, and team conversations
  • Supporting managers who need to communicate with greater precision

NLP should not be treated as a magic formula or a substitute for professional therapy. In a serious training context, it is best understood as a practical methodology for improving communication, behavioral awareness, and the way people structure experience and response.

What Should You Ask Your HR Department?

Before you apply, ask your HR department these questions:

  • Is our company registered with HRD Corp?
  • Am I eligible to attend external training under the company’s current policy?
  • Can this NaviGo NLP program be submitted under HRD Corp Claimable Courses?
  • What internal approval do I need before submitting the course application?
  • How early must the application be submitted?
  • Who is the person in charge of the HRD Corp submission?
  • What documents does HR need from NaviGo?
  • Has the company considered the 14-day and 90-day timing requirement before choosing the course date?

These questions help prevent delays and avoid confusion between the participant, HR, NaviGo, and HRD Corp.

Frequently Asked Questions

Usually, the HRD Corp claim route is handled by the employer, not by the individual participant personally. Check with your HR department to confirm whether your company is registered and whether you are eligible for training support.

Eligible employers may apply for selected NaviGo NLP programs through HRD Corp Claimable Courses, subject to HRD Corp approval and current requirements. Always confirm the latest status before finalizing your training plan.

From 15 June 2026, HRD Corp’s revised requirement states that training may only commence 14 calendar days after the grant has been approved, and the training must commence within 90 days from the grant approval date.

This means your company should not wait until the final two weeks before the program. Speak with HR early, confirm the selected NaviGo course dates, and allow enough time for internal approval and HRD Corp submission.

Under the revised HRD Corp requirements, employers are required to provide confirmed training dates that comply with HRD Corp requirements. This is why the course date should be selected carefully before submission.

No. Grant submission does not automatically confirm your seat. Your seat is confirmed only after the necessary approval and administrative steps are completed and space is still available in the selected program.

HR may request documents such as quotation or invoice, course outline, training schedule, trainer profile, venue or delivery information, and participant details. NaviGo can assist with relevant program documents once the correct course and intake have been identified.

Yes. Companies that want to train a group of employees should speak with NaviGo about corporate or in-house training. This may be more suitable when the company wants the content adapted to specific business outcomes.

NaviGo can assist with relevant program information and supporting documents. However, the HRD Corp grant application itself is normally submitted by the employer through the appropriate HRD Corp process.

Next Step

If you are an employee, speak with your HR department first and confirm whether your company can apply through HRD Corp.

If you are ready to explore the program options, start with the Licensed NLP Practitioner course, view the current NLP course dates, or speak with NaviGo about the right next step.

For companies, the better route may be a corporate training discussion so the program can be aligned with your team’s development needs and HRD Corp submission requirements.
